Manly Environment Centre is home to hundreds of teaching resources varying from syllabus documents to resource kits, teacher and student guides, videos, posters and activity sheets as well as maps and research information covering local issues. It's well worth a visit!

Stormwater Education - NSW Environmental Protection Agency This resource comprises of a poster and web based teaching/learning material, which includes a schools accreditation scheme and activities for students.

Catchment Model A catchment model showing both urban and rural catchment environments.

Interactive Website and CDROM on Frogs The multimedia CD-ROM covers six major chapters; frog diversity, Australian frog habitats, frog lifecycles, interdependence, threatened frogs and action for frogs.

Natural Resources and Management Wetlands: Resource Materials for Teachers including a pack for teachers.

Waterwatch Victoria - Covers raising water quality issues in the classroom. There are four manuals, which help to demystify the monitoring process and give confidence to educational and community groups.

 

Wet and Wild Wet and wild teachers resources including; a competition, wetlands information, games, experts and links.

Department of Land and Water Conservation A teachers resource kit covering water resource management, issues, fast facts and activities.

The Australian Water Technology, An education resource regarding water related issues.

Water Watch Victoria Links that cover water related websites for Kids,

Oz Green Has run many programs with schools involving both local and international schools and has developed several resources, please refer to their website.

Brookvale Public School The educational component of their website is an innovative resource for kids, teachers and local community members. Brookvale Public School Brookvale Public School also runs a CROAK (Creeks Rivers Oceans And Kids) project for kids and teachers.

Race Around the Catchment (Photographic competition) Water Watch Australia Race Around the Catchment is a national photographic competition being coordinated by Waterwatch for National Water Week. This competition focuses on celebrating 10 years of the Waterwatch network. Images reflect Australia's waterways, wetlands, lakes and estuaries.

Excursions

Kimbriki Eco-garden A Northern Sydney Wasteboard initiative, which features at Kimbriki tip at Terrey Hills on Mona Vale Rd. The eco-garden is a living example of sustainable and ecological garden ideas and is available for tours, (02) 9486 3512.

Shortlands Wetlands Centre - A school education program, which caters for day visits from students at all levels of schooling and meets the requirements of the NSW Environmental Education Policy 2000.

Coastal Environment Centre - As part of Pittwater Council the Environment Centre hosts excursions and information days and has an array of Environmental information, phone (02) 9970 6905.

Ocean World Macro-invertebrate displays and information, available from (02) 9949 2644.

Bicentennial Park Homebush Bay - Excursions regarding wetlands for all school year groups.

Discarded plastics and other small items can be ingesteed by wildlife or can trap them causing painful injuries or death.
